It is a place to post work for colleague critiques, enter photography contests and gain the chance to win scholarship entrance into workshops generated from The Photo Factor and hopefully other national workshops given by some of the best in the business.
My name is Michael Gomez,.I have worked in the photography business in Nashville for
18 years. I have seen our photo community grow in so many different ways. My photography mentor was W.E Lawson ," Slick " . Slick was an amazing mentor, and legend in the Nashville Photography community and quite a character. Slick taught me and many others the things we needed to do and taught us as much what not do. When he decided to get out of the ' biz" he gave me all his gear and said ,"I'll call you if I need it." Slick reminded me to do the same for the next generation of young photographers . Passing the torch has now become a way of life for me.
I have served as a photo mentor to several dozen interns who share my passion for this art. I lost a big job just the other week to a photographer who started as an intern of mine. It made me proud to see how well he has done. Many are now working in New York and Los Angles as Photographers or assistants to nationally acclaimed photographers.
